Field Hockey Facing off a new season

We are North Point! The fall season is finally starting and the fans have left such an impression in the stands. This year’s Varsity field hockey girls have put in many weeks of dedication.

The field hockey team kicked off their season with their first home game on September 9. They came out with an unfortunate loss, but it was a great game. There is also room for improvement within this team. Mrs. Fair, the field hockey coach, says the main focus of the varsity players are “To use their past field hockey experience as a positive aspect to the team and to finish their last year as best as possible.” She then continued to say their biggest competition this season will be La Plata.

Julia Thomas (15’), a varsity mid fielder for the Eagles, says a personal goal for herself this year is to “Get better at the sport and to be there for her teammates.” Also Lauren Bodamer (15’), who is the varsity goalie, explains a personal goal for herself this year is to “Encourage her teammates and to make sure everyone understands their job.” They both continue in agreement that “The team is crazy and they’re all there for each other.” The team’s camaraderie is shows on and off the field.

The new season did not start off as they would have liked it to but the team is very united in their determination to win. The girls will get better. With an amazing coach as well as a team that is focused, the Field Hockey team is ready to take their game to the next level. Come out and see the girls in action, at their next home game against the Lackey Chargers on Tuesday September 23rd.
