Editor-in-Chief: Azeezat Adeleke (’13)

Azeezat Adeleke has served as Editor-in-Chief of the Eagle Eye since May 2011. Previously, she was News Editor. Outside of the Eagle Eye, Azeezat is involved with Model United Nations, National Honor Society, Student Government, and other groups. She is currently President of the Charles County Association of Student Councils. Azeezat finds joy in Harry Potter, Dr. Who, Rachel Maddow,   and perusing the news. Her dream jobs are Minister of Magic or Secretary of State – whichever comes first.

News Editor: Allie Fetterolf (’12)

Allie Fetterolf is a senior at North Point. Although she is in the engineering STI program, she is majoring in Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of New Mexico in the fall of 2012. This is Allie’s first year on the Eagle Eye Staff, but she is very passionate and enthusiastic about writing. She is enjoying her newspaper experience, and is anxious to graduate and move on to the real world of journalism.

Photography Editor: Murugi Thande (’13)

Murugi Thande, the photography editor of the Eagle Eye, is a Graphic Communications student at North Point High School. She loves photography, making movies, running, and is the current president of the National Arts Honors society. She is also and active member of the French Club, Skills USA, National Honors and Language Honors Societies. Beyond that, she is also and anchor of News Break 96. She plans to pursue a career communications          and/or journalism.

Sports Editor: Benjamin McKnight III (’12)

Benjamin McKnight III is a senior at North Point. He is a three year member of the Eagle Eye, and currently serves as the Sports Editor. He is also a member of the North Point Wrestling Team and IWWF (I’m Worth Waiting For). In his spare time, Benjamin enjoys watching sports, cooking omelets, blogging, and having constructive debates with his friends. Upon graduation, Benjamin plans to attend a four year college or university, majoring in Journalism with a minor in Photography.

Student Life Editor: Alexis Frye (’12)

Alexis Javay Frye is the student life editor. She is a senior. She is on the poms dance team, a member of the Thespian troupe, the AFJROTC unit and National Honor Society. This is Alexis’s first year on Eagle Eye staff. Alexis plans to go to college and double major in musical theatre and journalism and minor in sociology. Alexis aspires to be a Broadway star. Her favorite musical is Hairspray.

Staff Writers:

Ivett Contreras is sixteen years old. She’s an eleventh grader at North Point High School. She’s been interested in journalism for two years. She enjoys writing poetry. Her favorite NFL team is the Redskins. She also has a love for music. She’s very outgoing and caring with others. She will always be there for someone she cares about.


Emily Garcia is a junior at North Point High School. This is her first year working with the Eagle Eye, and she is enjoying the experience. In her free time she enjoys theatre here at North Point, or at Port Tobacco Players. She is the Historian for the Thespian troupe 7040, hopes to continue with theatre throughout the rest of her life. She loves writing and enjoys meeting new people, and hopes to continue writing for the Eagle Eye her senior year.

Kristen Griffith is an eleventh grader at North Point. She enjoys playing soccer, and is on the varsity soccer team. Her favorite subject this year is Newspaper because she can show off her writing skills for everyone to see. When she isn’t playing soccer or doing homework she likes to read her books from the series, “A Private Novel.”

Samaria Khan wants to be a Journalist when she grows up. She enjoys writing and photography. She is a sophomore, and a member of North Point’s junior varsity cheerleading squad. Samaria is also part of the STI program, education careers. She hopes to attend Arizona State University!

Seth Lohr is a senior at North Point High School, an active member of the international thespian society and North Point’s theater, a lover of super Mario, and hopefully a future army ranger. He loves playing video games and listening to country music while he drives his truck. Seth also hates microwave tater tots, and losing his car keys in the woods. Lohr is very excited to be writing for Eagle Eye. He asks that all fan mail be addressed to King Stewart Little III and forwarded to his manager.

Douglas Smith, also known as Doug, Dougie, or Tyler by his fellow students and friends, is currently a senior at North Point. He likes to play video games, have a good time, and hang out with his friends. He loves anything sports related whether it is watching, playing, talking and writing about them too. In his future, he plans on becoming a sports broadcaster, or journalist for ESPN.

Tyler Vaughn is a senior at North Point.  He writes for the school newspaper and attends multiple sporting events.  His voice is heard by many students with his outgoing personality.  He was a former “Sideline Warrior” for the North Point Varsity Football Team.  At home after his homework, he loves to sit down with some V8 Splash and play Madden.

Emily Watts is a sixteen-year-old junior here at North Point.  She has a passion for literature and the arts.  In her free time you can find Emily with friends, or on the soccer field, which explains her interest in sports and entertainment journalism.  This is only Emily’s first year on the paper, but you can expect many more articles and pictures from this young writer in the future.
