Confirmed Ash Vs. Evil Dead Promises More Blood, Chainsaws, and Boomsticks

Yes, the Deadites are back and angrier than ever as gruesome demons and bloodthirsty zombies all rekindle to devour the world, and seek revenge on their mortal enemy—the iconic chainsaw wielding, witty-humored-hero, Ash Williams in Ash Vs. Evil Dead. “Evil Dead has always been a blast. Bruce, Rob, and I are thrilled to have the opportunity to tell the next chapter in Ash’s lame, but heroic saga. With his chainsaw arm and his ‘boomstick,’ Ash is back to kick some monster butt. And brother, this time there’s a truckload of it.” confirmed Sam Raimi, original director of The Evil Dead (1981), at last week’s Comic-Con convention in San Diego. Bruce Campbell, the original Ash Williams, returns again as the same character to appease hardcore Evil Dead fans, and to keep the nostalgic originality of the film on its toes. Campbell added, ”I’m really excited to bring this series to the Evil Dead fans worldwide — it’s going to be everything they have been clamoring for.” In addition to Sam Raimi, his brother, Ivan Raimi (Army of Darkness, Drag me to Hell) and Tom Spezialy (Chuck, Reaper) have all agreed to co-write the ten episode half-hour series. Hoping to deliver to fans, Ash Vs. Evil Dead plans to not pull any blood-gushing punches to its audiences around the world. It also hopes to resurface the nostalgia and successes of its 1981 lo-fi original horror predecessor, The Evil Dead. Excessively bursting with blood, slime, gore, and dark humor, it plans to shock the audiences like never before with hell-bound creatures, infamous characters, and an older, more experienced, and possibly wiser Ash. To make ends meet, Ash Vs. Evil Dead intends to carry out these ghastly promises by airing on Starz as an original series sometime in 2015 on cable television.
