Anticipating a Civil War
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been growing phenomenally, and their next step is Captain America; Civil War. This is the third installment of Captain America movies but it will feature a large number of Marvel characters, torn between two sides which is where the film’s tagline “Divided We Fall.”
In terms of appearances, this will be the first film to feature Black Panther and the first time Spiderman will be associated with an Avengers movie. As well, this is the second time fans will get to see Ant Man, Scarlet Witch, and Vision. There have also been many speculations on whether or not Quicksilver will be seen. However, it has already been announced that Thor and the Hulk will not be in Civil War.
As for the cause of this fight, it’s still a bit up in the air. Some believe it will be a question of the morals behind government surveillance and the true meaning of freedom. Fans already know that the film will revolve around Captain America trying to protect his long-time best friend, Bucky, who is known as the Winter Soldier. In previous films, viewers learned that Bucky had been taken in by the Nazi organization, Hydra and was brainwashed into becoming a super soldier, mimicking what had been done to Steve Rogers, the man behind Captain America. The next step appears to be Rogers trying to adapt his best friend to modern life and keep him safe from those who may see him as a criminal.
The opposing force in the movie is a bit of a problem for fans. Some believe it will be Tony Stark, the Iron Man, but this is where a dilemma arises. Fans believe that portraying Stark as the villain would be misrepresenting him and that he is not actually the bad guy in the situation. The internet has been up in arms ever since the trailer came out on November 24, 2015, featuring Tony Stark with some aggressive statements such as “Sometimes I want to punch you in your perfect teeth.”
Tony Stark is not alone though. Both sides of the battle will have allies. As for the Captain, his team includes Hawkeye, Falcon, Scarlet Witch, Winter Soldier, and Ant Man. Iron Man, on the other hand, will be assisted by Vision, Spiderman, Black Widow, War Machine, and Black Panther.
Prepare for a huge rift, a civil war between two sides of the Marvel fandom to be released on May 6, 2016.
