Former rapper and currently, “America’s dad,” Will Smith pulled what is being called, “the ultimate dad joke.” According to Google a dad joke is, “an unoriginal or unfunny joke of a type supposedly told by middle-aged or older men.” Will Smith is a middle-aged man, but his joke was definitely far from humorless. The star re-created his son Jaden’s music video to celebrate the 100 million streams of his song, “Icon.” “I thought it was very funny how he was impersonating his son,” junior Xavier Grant confessed. The father went all out for his joke, even dying his hair the same exact color Jaden’s hair is. Everything was spot-on.

The video originated in Will Smith’s Instagram page, but has since then been shared all across social media, with so much positive feedback. “That joint was funny!” junior Nick Jordan exclaimed. Many are saying that he wins, “dad of the year,” and that Smith is, “such a legend.” People are loving that Smith is showing so much love and support for his child and how he expresses himself. “I think it’s cool to see parents, famous or not, showing their support for their kids. And it was funny to see Will Smith act like Jaden in the video,” sophomore Simone McCarter explained. Everyone seemed to love Jaden’s response to his father even more. Jaden responded on Instagram saying, “Dad this is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen in my life you’re the best father anyone could ask for thank you for allowing me to express myself even when I take it [too] far sometimes I love you more than you will ever know because you taught me how to love. Also thank you for having the best Instagram on planet earth.” The Smiths had everyone go from non-stop laughing to “aw-ing” at how sweet their relationship is.
