AP Week

With this year’s school year coming to a close, students have been getting into the summer mood. But before the school year can close, the final tests have to happen. The most talked about test right now are the AP exams coming up in less then a week. We wondered how the students and staff are preparing for the upcoming two weeks of testing. Here’s what they had to say:

How are you preparing for the test?

Jasmine Harris (’22) says, “My teacher gave me a review packet and I have also been watching videos on YouTube to review on my own.”

How are you feeling about the upcoming week?

Jasmine Harris, “I’m nervous for the actual day and test, but overall I just need to prepare for the test.”

How are you going to celebrate when the test is over?

Jasmine Harris, “I’m going to relax afterwards.”

We then asked a teacher these same question so we can get a teacher’s perspective. This is what she said:

How are you feeling about the upcoming week?

Mrs. Cary Smith says, “A little bit anxious because even though I know my students are ready, it feels like I don’t have enough time to finish preparing them and reviewing with them since Spring Break was so late.”

How are you preparing for the test?

Mrs. Smith, “I am working on preparing review packs for them so they can start preparing on their own at home when they’re not with me. I’m also going to meet with my students, who are taking the test, individually to review and answer any questions they have to make sure they have everything they need to testing day.”

How are you going to celebrate when the test is over?

Mrs. Smith, “I don’t know yet.”

Everybody is preparing for the upcoming AP tests in anyway they can. With the testing weeks coming up fast, nerves are high, but students and teachers are ready to face the challenge of the AP exam.
