Prince was a singer, songwriter, musician, record producer, dancer, and actor. He could do several things himself. Prince is an example of a black artist who stays independent with his flamboyant personality and ability to do everything right by himself.
Prince comes from a family of musicians and singers. His mom Matte Della, a singer, and his dad John L Nelson, a pianist, cared for the young star during his childhood in Louisianna. Prince got his name from his father’s stage name, ‘Prince’ Rogers. He made music for Batman in 1989, but his most successful creation was Purple Rain, which was one of his most popular songs because it was a piece that combined rock, R&B, gospel, and orchestral music.
Prince is a key figure in Black History not just because he was famous, but because he could do many things himself and wasn’t afraid to mix things together, like all his talents and other types of music with each other. With the benefit of being born into a family of music creators, he was able to shine in his own spotlight.
