You love a fair during the fall? Then you should not have missed the Charles County fair! Throughout the 11th-14th of September, Charles County held their 101st yearly fair located in La Plata showcasing live-entertainment, livestock, field corn, arts and crafts, and activities for everyone to enjoy! 

What’s a fair without a little competition? As part of the fair, residents of Charles, Anne Arundel, Calvert, Prince George’s, and St. Mary’s counties are eligible to submit their creative work for competitions.  But do you love royalty and money? This fair gives you this opportunity to run for Queen Nicotina. If you were to win for Queen Nicotina, you also get a $1000 scholarship award donated by PNC bank! The Charles County fair is a fun, limitless activity including performances like pig races and chainsaw carving demonstrations and not just winning opportunities 

Even residents of Charles County can win a variety of items at auctions, from surplus government property to home furnishings and real estate. But boy this typeing about money and competitions makes me want to take a break and grab a bite. From sizzling BBQ to sugar-dusted funnel cakes, the Charles County fair is a feast you can smell before you see it.
