School had just started back up with freshmen finding their classes, and seniors happy they are graduating soon. On Friday of the first week of school, seniors arrived at North Point two hours early to enjoy senior sunrise. Senior sunrise is a tradition for seniors every year where they gather in the football stadium to watch the sun rise before school starts. It’s a perfect way to reflect on the other three years you’ve been at North Point and how far you’ve come.
The field was full of picnic blankets and towels as people gathered in circles to catch up with their friends about the first week. From behind the stadium students could see the sunrise peeking over and beginning to warm up the cold air. Some seniors were laid out resting in the morning sunlight, some were taking pictures with their friends, and some were enjoying breakfast they brought with them. It was a refreshing way to end the first week of their last year in high school. During the sunrise, seniors came together on the field for a memorable group picture. The picture brought everyone together as the sunrise came to a close.
For many years senior sunrise has been loved by every graduated class as a way to get together with your peers before you reach the end. Everyone can have fun in their own way as they embrace the warmth from the morning sun. If you’re reading this as an underclassman, you should try not to miss out on all the relaxation at senior sunrise.
As seniors returned to classes, they resumed their normal schedule with a new refreshed feeling. I wish all seniors and students a great 2025-2026 school year. Let’s begin and finish strong!
