The journey to becoming a principal isn’t something I’d describe as easy. The furthest thing from it in fact. Our Vice principals here have lengthy resumes, ensuring students are in good hands here at North Point. Today, I wanted to focus my article on a natural born leader who hopes to bond with students and staff alike, our new North Point 9th grade vice principal, Ms. Hodges.
Ms. Hodges Experience With Teaching
The title of vice principal was something that seemed fate to her. The journey of becoming vice principal started off with a job in the health Department. Ms. Hodges was asked to teach sexuality at some of the high schools in D.C. This is when she found her. She had begun to become more versatile with the subjects she taught, moving from sexuality to health classes. This versatility could soon be said about the locations she taught at; after teaching a bit at Thomas Stone, she then worked at the central office. She applied to become a vice principal to John Hanson, then was transferred to Lackey, and now the home of the Eagles (known as North Point). So far, we’ve given Ms. Hodges a warm welcome to North Point High School, and hopefully she’ll stay as an assistant principal here for a while.
Her Experience So Far With North Point Itself
Ms. Hodges’ experience with North Point so far is nothing but pleasant. She describes the change in environment and energy from previous schools as a positive one. She depicts the students to be polite, performing little deeds such as greeting staff in the halls, going out of their way to converse with others, and having basic manners, etc. We’re glad North Point has become a positive staple in Ms. Hodges expedition of working in education and we hope she stays for a while.
