One of the best ways to spend your time during this cold weather is to bundle up and watch a great film or series. Personally, my favorite thing to do in my free time is watch shows with fun, dramatic plots and developed, dynamic characters. Due to this, I decided to write this article to recommend some new shows, remind you of new seasons, and let you know about any upcoming movies. Sometimes you finish a show that you truly love, and you want to find something similar, which led me to create a list of some popular shows and parallels you may like. “If you liked this, then you may like this.” I hope this list can help you find another great show or movie.

- 10Dance- Thursday, December 18th
10Dance is a new Japanese LGBTQ+ romance film on Netflix. The show is about rival dancers, Shinya Suzuki and Shinya Sugiki, who are forced to team up for a dance competition, leading to unexpected romance and rivalry.
- Avatar Fire & Ash- Friday, December 19th
Avatar Fire and Ash is the third film in the Avatar series. The story continues with Jake and Neytiri’s family as they encounter a new Na’vi tribe, known as the Ash People. If you have seen the first two movies, I’m sure you’re just as excited about the third one. But if you haven’t seen them, I would encourage you to, especially if you enjoy action and fantasy.
- Stranger Things 5- 2nd Part December 25th, Finale December 31st
The Final Season of Stranger Things has finally been released. The first part was released on November 26th, the second part will be released on December 25th, and the last part will be released on New Year’s Eve, December 31st. If you’ve never watched the Stranger Things Series, I would recommend that you at least watch a couple of episodes. Now that the finale is soon to be released, you can binge-watch without waiting. In case you don’t know much about Stranger Things, I would describe it as teen horror fiction. But there are many different aspects of the show, romance and drama.
- Heated Rivalry- Ongoing, Every Friday
Heated Rivalry is currently being streamed on HBO Max with a new episode every Friday, beginning on Friday, November 28th. The show follows two rival hockey stars, Shane Hollander of Canada, and Ilya Rozanov of Russia as the two begin to develop feelings for each other. I would recommend this show if you enjoy drama and romance, or if you have a connection to it due to the LGBTQ+ characters.
