Even though winter break has ended and the festive spirit is dying down, there is still time to enjoy this cold weather. You can still get together with friends and enjoy different winter activities with friends and family. There’s always the easy gingerbread house, decorating cookies, and watching the cliche Christmas movies. But if you’re looking for something more interesting to spend the rest of your winter, I’ve got you covered!
- Ice Skating
- The Capital Clubhouse in Waldorf Market place has a skating rink. Most people aren’t good at ice skating, so learning with friends can be really fun. But if ice skating is maybe too cold or extreme for you, there is also regular skating. The Waldorf Roller Skating Center is a great place to hang out with friends later in the day, the skating rink opens at 6pm.
- Bonfire and Stargazing
- During the winter, stars in the sky are the most visible compared to any other time of the year. However, since the weather is so cold and brisk, gathering around a bonfire with some blankets can be a great way to spend time with your friends.
- Crafting Projects
- Winter is a great time to start new craft projects, like making fabric napkins or holiday decorations. Especially if you already enjoy being creative and getting to create your designs, finding a new craft or hobby to get into can be a great way to spend your winter weekends and afterschool.
- Baking
- Trying out new recipes or baking holiday treats to share with friends and family is a great way to spend your time. Everyone loves a sweet treat and making it yourself can make you even more proud of what you created. Getting together to bake with friends and family is a fun way to get everyone together. Adding more things to when you bake makes it even more enjoyable, like playing blind, deaf and mute while baking or any other things to make it more challenging.
These are just a few things you can do to enjoy your winter weekends and after school time. To look for more ideas of what to do, TikTok, Pinterest and just a Google search is a great start. I hope you all enjoyed your break and will enjoy the rest of this beautiful winter season.
