One of the most exciting events of the year is coming up – The Café Concert! It is the time when all of the choir students come together to put on a concert that is fully decided by them. The students choose the songs they sing, any choreography they’d like to do, and other performers such as soloists, duets, and bands get to shine as well.

The concert is being held this Friday, in the cafeteria, with tickets being sold at $5. As well as the wonderful performances, Cold Stone ice cream will be available to purchase with an array of flavors and toppings. It begins at 7pm and is sure to be lots of fun.

In addition to the performances from the students, this concert also serves as a farewell to the seniors. The graduating choir students will come together to sing this year’s senior song, “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield. There will also be many other opportunities for seniors to shine and enjoy their last concert at the school.

One student who is looking forward to Friday’s concert is Jasmyne Burrell (’18). “I’m looking forward to seeing the joy that the performers show after slaying the stage,” she stated. “Café Concert gives the choir students an opportunity to show their passion while surrounded by family and friends. Everyone should come because they’ll be able to brag about seeing a star perform in their prime!”

Chantal Bloczynski (’17) is one of the seniors who will be performing at Café Concert. “I always look forward to hearing everyone’s solo performances, but this year, I’m really looking forward to singing the senior song,” she said about what she is most looking forward to. “Café Concert is special because it gives us the chance to show everyone that choir isn’t just ‘boring song that put everyone to sleep.’ It’s full of songs that everyone knows and gives us choir kids a chance to let loose and have fun. Plus,” she added, “it has ice cream.”

It is obvious that this year’s Café Concert will be incredible with performances of songs like “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Cups.” So make sure you and your friends attend this exciting event on Friday!
