In more local news, Charles County Public Schools has been making improvements to security after three student arrests. As of Wednesday, April 24, all middle and high school students are required to leave their book bags in their lockers. After three arrests at La Plata High School for two students carrying loaded guns, and one student posting about a school shooting, many students became afraid to go to school. By enforcing the rule of book bags in lockers, the Superintendent hopes to make Charles County Schools a safer learning environment.
