Summer Plans

Summer+Plans

Summer is almost here for Charles County students and teachers, and excitement is in the air. Summer opens a whole world of opportunities for everyone to try something new, relax, and have fun! However, summer can also mean a new start– at a job, internship, and for some seniors, the start of a new life at college. This hot season also means the opening of water parks to cool off in, or fun outdoor activities open to the public. There is a variety of different things to do in our area this summer, so you’ll never be bored! However, despite the many opportunities that come along with the summer, I wanted to know what students here at North Point planned over the next few months.

Soon to be graduating senior, Nathan Dewey, said that over the summer he will be visiting Michigan to see his family and spend some time relaxing and enjoying his time up there. After taking some time to unwind in Michigan, in August, Nathan said he will finally be able to move into his dorm at his college in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He will be attending Harrisburg University in the fall and will be studying Cybersecurity.

I asked rising junior, Sydni Parker, about her plans over break, and she shared with me that she would be taking the Personal Financial Literacy class over the summer. Her summer is looking to be very productive, as she also plans on studying to get her learner’s permit, along with looking for a part-time job.

The summer for North Point students and graduates sounds very promising, and I hope everyone looks forward to the next school year.
