Ever wonder how a new high schooler handles everything? Let’s look at Saka Rehman’s day, a North Point freshman who’s already making a splash.
Her alarm rings at 6:30 am. A quick positive thought of, “Let today be good!” and she’s out the door.
When Saka gets to school, it’s like she turns on her social side. Meeting up with her cousin and friends at her locker? Super important. It’s the before-class boost, a bunch of laughs and hanging out that gets her ready for the day.
Schoolwork? Saka has a plan that would make anyone who waits until the last minute nervous. Homework doesn’t pile up; she does it, putting the most important things first. Earth Systems? That’s where she gets excited; the class that makes her want to learn.
Outside of school, Saka is learning piano and how to read and write in Urdu. That’s a lot of different skills!
The best part of her day? The fun she has with her friends. The hard part? Keeping up with all her homework and studying. Lunch is her happy place, a fun break where she hangs out with her group.
Home is where she relaxes a bit. A quick break, and then it’s time to work again. Saka breaks her studying into small parts, focusing on the most important subjects first.
Even though she’s a freshman, Saka is thinking about the future, ready to check out the clubs at North Point.
Evenings are for chilling out. Shows, scrolling on her phone, and a good book before she goes to bed at 10:00 are the norm.
Saka’s day is a great example of balance, showing that you can be both hardworking and happy, making her freshmen year seem like a breeze!
