Kori Young, a freshman in high school, starts her day around 6:45 AM when her alarm rings, though sometimes it’s a little earlier or later. She kicks off the morning with a warm shower to help wake up and get in the right mindset. Afterward, she enjoys an iced mocha with vanilla milk while thinking about her Christian faith to start her day off on a good note.
When Kori arrives at school, the first thing she does is drop off her stuff and grab some breakfast. She usually has a bagel from Panera or oatmeal pudding from Tropical, whichever she’s in the mood for.
For homework, Kori likes to break it up day by day. She works on assignments when she feels like it and takes breaks to keep from getting overwhelmed. Her favorite class is biology, especially because she loves her teacher, Miss Patterson. Plus, it connects to her CTE, which she enjoys. The best part of her day is seeing her friends, but math is the hardest part for her.
After school, Kori’s main goal is to relax at home. She starts by taking a shower and then focuses on whatever homework she needs to do. When it comes to studying, she just picks a day of the week to focus on it, but only when she feels ready.
At night, Kori has a routine to help her wind down. She takes a shower, does her skincare routine, brushes her teeth, and then makes some tea. Sometimes she snacks on fruit, watches movies, or even bakes. She also loves looking up places to travel and sometimes books flights for future trips. By 10 PM she is ready for bed, finishing her day feeling relaxed and ready for tomorrow.
