Britney Reyes is a senior who sees herself as a future immigration lawyer helping those in need of immigration. She goes by Nikki, she is 17 years old, she is from Laurel MD and lived in MD her whole life. Her favorite season is the winter; she adores the winter.
Q1: What artist got you through high school, and what song would you say describes your year?
A: “Laufey got me through high school. A single that describes my year would probably have to be Night Light. She talks about her childhood bedroom and reflects on the memories it’s held. This song is a coming of age sort of thing and transitioning into adulthood which is something I know I feel a lot of with the fact that I am graduating in only a couple of months.”
Q2: What are your plans after high school and why?
A: “I plan to do a four-year college, majoring in political science then attend a three-year college and become an immigration lawyer. I’ve always wanted to be an immigration lawyer to help advocate to people in every way and ensure a fair trial for everyone.”
Q3: What advice do you have for underclassmen?
A: “It’s never that serious.”
Q4: What is your favorite memory from high school?
A: “My favorite high school memory was seeing my older sister graduate.”
Q5: What’s the biggest lesson high school has taught you?
A: “High school taught me to always stay true to myself and to always keep the people I love close to me.”
Q6: How do you feel from freshman year to now?
A: “I’ve changed a lot from my freshman year to now. I’m more mature, careful, and responsible. I will say though, my freshman year I didn’t think these four years would fly as quick as it did.”
Q7: What is your favorite memory from before high school? (K-8th)
A: “My memory before high school was visiting my grandmother for the last time in El Salvador in the year 2019.”
Q8: What is the hardest thing about high school?
A: “The hardest thing in high school was staying motivated, And of course math.”
