Varsity Field Hockey Kicks off Season

Lauren Bodamer, Staff Writer

The North Point Varsity Field Hockey team is back!  So far this season, the girls have a record of 1-2-0. The head coach is Ms. Fair and she has been coaching Field Hockey all five years.  The team captains this season are Kelly McGeady (‘13), Marquella Allen (‘13), and Danielle Baker (‘13).

The whole team works hard and gives it their all.  A few players to watch on defense are Brittany Hodson (‘13), Ylianna Trevion (‘13), and Danielle Tillman (‘13).  Key offensive players are Kitanna Yates (‘13), and Valentina Jones (’15). “I get to run and show my stick work, and make as many goals as possible,” Jones commented.

The teams that they are looking forward to playing against in SMAC are La Plata High School, Chopticon High School, and Great Mills High School. “We will hopefully win half the games….because it’s an ongoing goal to beat the teams in this county and other counties,” Coach Fair said.  Devin Heilmeier (’15) commented, “I am looking forward to playing against La Plata, since they are our main rival. They are also a good team, and both teams are evenly matched.”

The North Point Varsity Field Hockey is looking forward to a great season, so come on out and support the field hockey girls!
