Madison Boelke (’15)

Madison Boelke (15’) is a forward and midfielder for the Varsity Field Hockey team. Being a member of the field hockey team has taught her leadership that she uses in and out of school, during classes, and her education courses. ”I would like to apply to Coastal Carolina or Salisbury University, and get my degree for middle school education,” Says Boelke (15’) speaking about her future goals of becoming a teacher she seems very determined and set on her decisions with which her future withholds.

   According to Boelke, balancing sports and academics are critical in her life. “You really have to set aside time in order to juggle school and extracurricular activities, and the weekends will be your best friend, to finish up work and get some practice in”. Her future goals really relate to the, sports she plays and only seem to help her. Field Hockey gives Madison the opportunity to learn, communicate, and have extra responsibilities as a team member. This helps her to build her communication experience as well as patience which are essential to being an educator.

   Putting in extra work after school and at home is a portion of what Boelke does weekly during the season. In addition, Boelke would like to keep field hockey in her life in college. She has her future goals already set for her. Field Hockey was an important part of her high school years, and will always be a part of her. She has her future right in front of her and she is ready for it. Good luck in your future endeavors Madison.
