Trick or Trunk
On Thursday October 30, North Point held the Trick or Trunk event for the children all across the area. Between the hours of 3:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. numerous clubs, including NHS, FEA, Criminal Justice, Key Club, and cheerleading, all lined a section of the parking lot with decorated trunks full of candy. This event has provided young children with a safe way to participate in Halloween and trick or treat for years and also is a fundraiser for UNICEF (United Nations International Children’s Fund) who work to make children around the world better through programs and fundraisers.
This year was no different from the others. The designated area was filled with many parents and children from all across the county. There were even some appearances by some of North Point’s own teachers. Mrs. Kirby was in attendance and brought her young daughter to take part in the experience. Mrs. Kirby happily noted, “I enjoy this. I like that it goes toward a good cause. I’ve been going for years and this year was successful as ever. All of the groups did a great job decorating all the cars.” When asked about how the experience is different being able to bring her daughter, she further noted, “It’s fun being able to take my daughter, even though she can’t talk I still think she highly enjoyed it.”
Mrs. Spence also attended as a sponsor and said, “I enjoy watching the high school children interact with the smaller kids.” She especially enjoyed the kids’ costumes, saying, “There were a lot of characters from the movie “Frozen.” I thought that was cute.” Overall Trick or Trunk was a success and will be held again next year.
